Best Halloween movies for kids

Halloween is a good time to watch scary movies. There are so many movies for kids, it's hard to know where to start. I couldn't possibly name them all. There are several that made a hit with my family, so I will name a few of the favorites.
"When Good Ghouls Go Bad" is just a little scary, but mostly funny. Danny Walker (Joe Pichler) and his dad (Tom Amandes) move back to their hometown of Walker Falls. His dad plans to reopen the family business, Walker Chocolates. They move in with Danny's grandfather, who acts more like a kid than an adult. Everyone calls him Uncle Fred (Christopher Lloyd). All of the town's people are unfriendly and seem a little weird. Nobody celebrates Halloween anymore due to a mysterious death of an 8th grader, Curtis Danko, and a curse on the town if they ever celebrated Halloween again. Uncle Fred gets killed when a tower of pumpkins fall on him. After his funeral, he comes back as a zombie to save Halloween. That's when the fun really begins.
"Ghost Busters" and "Ghost Busters II" are two must see movies for kids. Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murry), Dr. Raymond Stante (Dan Aykroyd), and Dr. Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis), are 3 kooky doctors that specialize in the paranormal. They get the idea to start a business catching ghosts in New York City. When they take a job for Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) things really start to get crazy. They are more funny than scary, but the kids will love them. Almost everyone is familiar with Harry Potter movies, based on the books written by J.K. Rowling. There are seven books, and 8 movies about Harry Potter. Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) is a young wizard that attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Together with his friends, Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), they face many dangers. Even if you have watched them before, this is the perfect time to watch them again.

Nothing else screams Halloween like "Goosebumps" movies. There are 74 scary episodes, based on the the books written by R.L. Stine. If you have teenagers in the house, they are probably already familiar with the "Twilight" movies. It's a series based on the novels of Stephenie Meyer. The movies are about a love triangle between a human teenage girl, a 104 year old vampire, and a werewolf. Or maybe Stephen King's "Fire Starter" would be of interest. It's about a little girl that can start fires with her mind.

There are so many great movies for kids to watch on Halloween it's hard to name them all. A few others you might want to choose from are; "The Little Vampire", "E.T.", "Casper", "The Haunted Mansion", "Night at the Museum", "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", "The Nightmare Before Christmas", "Beetlejuice", or "Monsters, Inc." If you have toddlers at your house, you can include them in the fun with Halloween shows like, "Clifford's Big Halloween", "Barney's Halloween Party" or, "Dora's Halloween Adventure". You can usually find a Halloween program of whatever character they are into. Now, pick you out some movies, pop some corn, gather up the kids, snuggle up together, and have a Happy Halloween!
